We are SnowKloud Alaskan Malamutes, a small breeder of AKC Alaskan Malamutes, located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. We show, work, and most importantly love our dogs as part of our family...
Alaskan Malamutes are a large breed of domestic dogs, originally bred for hauling freight and later used in sledding. Typical adult weights are approximately 70-85 pounds for females and 80-100 pounds for males. They are extremely intelligent, athletic, playful, and talkative. They are more likely to howl than bark. These are extremely people-friendly dogs who belong in homes with fenced yards and owners who are devoted to exercise them and return their tremendous loyalty. They are escape artists who like to dig. Twice a year they blow their thick gorgeous coats and require brushing.
A huge thanks to Nancy & Bob Russell of Storm Kloud Kennels for her dedication to the breed and mentoring to us... We strive to contribute even a fraction of what they have contributed to the Breed. Additional thanks to all the local and national malamute breeders, mushers, and working dog folks who have help educate us and preserve the breed.
Storm Kloud's Kept A Viking of Storm Sky
Kaya was also bred by Nancy Russell of Storm Kloud, Jerri El-Dissi, and Sabrina Czarapata of Storm Sky. Her sire was frozen semen by 'Viking', Storm Kloud's Vvanilla Snowman. Viking was an extraordinary example of the breed and AMCA #1 malamute in 1988 and we are proud to have one of his progeny.
Kaya is championship pointed in very limited showing and has wonderful movement.
